THE MANY FACETS OF SUCCESS

Lesson’s From Babe Ruth’s Journey

Babe Ruth is one of the most famous baseball stars. The son of German immigrants was born George Herman Ruth Jr. in Baltimore, 1895. As a teenager, he drifted towards criminality that brought him to the reform school by the name of St. Mary’s Industrial School For Boys.

Soon, one of his teachers, whom young George idolised, convinced him to play baseball to spend his overflowing energy. The rest is history.

EXCEL, AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO BLEND IN

Left-handed George, who spoke German at home, was probably not a dream candidate for an American sports team. Moreover, his youth and naivete brought him the nickname Babe. Also, Babe’s physique was not what one would expect from an athlete. While the size of his means was legend, his weight raised.

Nevertheless, his fame rose as his successes became bigger, and he climbed to the top of the career ladder.

YOU JUST CAN’T BEAT THE PERSON WHO NEVER GIVES UP. – Babe Ruth

If one finds their passion, follows it, and finally excels, they are truly unstoppable.

THE DEFINITION OF SUCCESS IS INDIVIDUAL

Agreed, the following quote doesn’t sound very alluring. Still, it shows that there is not ONE SINGLE definition of success. For some, it is glory and fame; some want freedom to do what they want, others wish safety, while others strive for wealth.

WHO IS RICHER? THE MAN WHO IS SEEN, BUT CANNOT SEE?
OR THE MAN WHO IS NOT BEING SEEN, BUT CAN SEE? – Babe Ruth

Each of these aspirations is perfectly respectable. To achieve the chosen goal, one must strategise and take bold decisions.

Once you find out what you are good at and what you like doing (which is more often than not the same), you might want to decide on how you want to work. Do you want to work as a freelancer, a digital nomad? Or do you prefer to work in a company, being part of a team where you can apply your knowledge? Lastly, you might choose to create your own company.

Possibilites
