A DETECTIVE’S WISDOM

Warner Oland (born Johan Verner Ölund; October 3, 1879 – August 6, 1938) was a Swedish-American actor. He achieved fame with the role of the famous detective Charlie Chan, who was well known for his quotes, many of which also apply to entrepreneurs.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Inventors and entrepreneurs often live in their own world, pursuing their ideas. We would probably talk about inspiration and determination rather than calling it ego.

MADNESS TWIN BROTHER OF GENIUS BECAUSE EACH LIVE IN WORLD CREATED BY OWN EGO. ONE SOMETIMES MISTAKEN FOR THE OTHER.
Charlie Chan (portrayed by Warner Oland) at the Opera (1936)

However, one has to be accustomed to not being understood, at least until they succeed. Business is full of these examples. Ford wanted to provide a car for every American family, a goal most people deemed crazy. The number of produced T models proves that he achieved his goal.

LUCK

ONE GRAIN OF LUCK SOMETIMES WORTH MORE THAN WHOLE RICE FIELD OF WISDOM.
Charlie Chan (portrayed by Warner Oland) at the Circus (1936)

Knowing your trade is as important as working towards your goal. But luck is almost indispensable.

The investor Warren Buffett considers luck an important ingredient in his outstanding success. According to him, his talent and knowledge would not have been in demand at any other time and in any other country.

However, when luck strikes – statistically, it eventually does – you should be prepared to take advantage of it. And it is important to spot the opportunities coming your way. Sometimes we are too blind and take too much for granted.
