Make Your Words Resonate with Your Audience

We arrived at the letter K of our quote series. Once again, we are back at the genre of horror for which the writer Stephen King is famous.

However, this time we are not taking a deep dive into horror but we talk of the sound of voice instead.

FRENCH IS THE LANGUAGE THAT TURNS DIRT INTO ROMANCE
Stephen King

This quote makes it very clear that it is the sound that makes the music. Needless to say, that bad news conveyed in a pleasant tone are much easier to digest than if one is confronted with the mere facts.

Striking the right tone, is essential to make our words resonate with our audience and to lure them into reading your posts. Moreover, it is also part of the corporate identity and should therefore go along with your branding. In order to be consistent, you might even have a word-bank, that contains the vocabulary to describe your product and excludes the words you do not want to use

To find the right tone of voice you must know your audience, know who they are and what they want. To achieve this, you create so-called personas, which you probably already did when you launched your service or your product.

While your corporate design comprises your logo, the fonts you use, and your imagery, the brand identity is literally your company’s culture of which the way you speak to your audience is an important part.
